ORNL is a premier source of computational science research and is home to the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility. The OLCF provides the scientific community access to Summit, America’s fastest, most powerful supercomputer. Our supercomputers have decreased time to solution, increased the complexity of models, and improved the realism of simulations in numerous areas of research including advanced materials, combustion, and nuclear energy.
The laboratory also pursues numerous next-generation computing technologies such as artificial intelligence, neuromorphic systems, and quantum computing in its quest to remain a leader in computing and computational science.
