STEM Connection

On June 10th-14th, students from Oak Ridge and surrounding counties participated in STEM Connection, an interactive summer program for students between the ages of 10th grade and 2nd year post high school. Sponsored by ORNL, The City of Knoxville’s Save Our Sons Initiative, and The AMSE Foundation, STEM Connection introduced students to a variety of STEM careers throughout the lab. Activities included tours of lab facilities and The American Museum of Science & Energy, career talks from employees across the lab, presentation of student research opportunities, and job-shadowing placements with mentors in research and support roles.
