ORNL is excited to offer virtual presentations that connect student audiences with ORNL research staff. The program is designed for student groups including classrooms, camps, scout groups, etc. Virtual sessions can be tailored to your group’s STEM topic(s) of interest.
The ORNL Science Fair provides the opportunity for guests of all ages to learn more about science and the importance of the ORNL research directly from scientists as they tour carnival-style, interactive trailers that describe various fields of research and areas of future career opportunities.
ORNL proudly partners with many schools and community groups in the surrounding area in a variety of events including school STEM nights, science fairs, career fairs, teacher professional development, and other educational events.
During Computer Science Education Week (week of December 9th), computational scientists from ORNL support Hour of Code events across the region. Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code, show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science.
During Engineers Week (week of February 17th), ORNL employees will visit classroom throughout the region. Engineers Week is an opportunity to give every child, everywhere, an engineering experience. Engineers Week is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering and technology careers.
